Description

The IDT equips the student with the skills, techniques and legal considerations when operating departmental and emergency response vehicles. The student will be exposed to a variety of courses designed for the government vehicle drivers. These courses provide fundamental skills which enhance the driver’s performance when operating departmental and emergency response vehicles. Classroom instruction, laboratories and practical exercise are used during the training. At the completion of the program, students will have achieved levels of competency that will enable them to successfully operate departmental and emergency response vehicles.

 

Prerequisites

Applicant must be employed in law enforcement or in a law enforcement related position, possess a valid driver’s license, and be physically fit for full performance of law enforcement duties, as prescribed by the parent agency.

Required Training Materials

No training materials required to be brought by the student.

Cheltenham Students: You must bring appropriate training attire. (Docker or BDU type pants; golf-style shirt). Training uniforms are not provided.
