Physical Techniques Training

T-shirts, gym shorts, sweat suits, supporters, athletic bras, socks,and towels are provided by the Center for student use during physical training classes. These uniforms are required while participating in physical activities in the Physical Techniques Complex including after-hour activities. Students are held accountable for missing items. Since athletic shoes are not available from the Center for student use, each student should bring his/her own athletic footwear (running/courtshoes).


Firearms Training

If your blood pressure is higher than 140/90, consult your doctor. It must be under control at the time of admission or you might be withdrawn from training. This pertains to all courses requiring firearms training.


Firearms Training Equipment Requirements

FIRTP – Firearms Instructor Refresher Training Program
Students are encouraged to bring their issued semiautomatic pistol, issued leather gear and a minimum of 3 magazines; ammunition will be provided. FLETC uniforms will be provided*.

FITP – Firearms Instructor Training Program
Students are encouraged to bring their issued semiautomatic pistol, issued leather gear and a minimum of 3 magazines; ammunition will be provided. FLETC uniforms will be provided*.

ITNTA – Instructor Techniques for Non-lethal Training Ammunition
Students are encouraged to bring their issued leather gear, ballistic vest and a “protective cup.” It is not necessary to bring duty weapons because the FLETC will provide them and leather gear, as needed. FLETC uniforms will be provided*; however, students can wear personal navy-blue BDUs. Students should wear “service-type” boots or shoes.

LERTP – Law Enforcement Rifle Training Program
All equipment, uniforms and ammunition are provided*. Students should wear “service-type” boots or shoes. Individual eye and hearing protection is permitted.

APITP – Advanced Pistol Instructor Training Program
Students are encouraged to bring their issued semiautomatic pistol, issued leather gear and a minimum of 5 magazines; ammunition will be provided. FLETC uniforms will be provided. Students should wear “service-type” boots or shoes. Individual eye and hearing protection is permitted. Weapon cleaning gear is provided.

APTP – Advanced Pistol Training Program
Students are encouraged to bring their issued semiautomatic pistol, issued leather gear (standard and concealed-duty carry) and a minimum of 3 magazines; ammunition will be provided. FLETC uniforms will be provided; however, personal black or dark blue BDUs are allowed.

AIM – Advanced Instruction for Marksmanship
Students are encourage to bring their issued semiautomatic pistol, issued duty belt or holster and magazine pouch and a minimum of 3 magazines (5 magazines for single stack).  You will need to dress in appropriate attire for range activities for each day of training.

 

Weapons Storage

Students and staff are not allowed to carry or possess their weapons while at the Center. Weapons must be checked in at the Visitor Control Center (Main Gate) upon arrival at the Center and picked up after graduation. If participating organizations require, special arrangements will be made to permit students to fire their own weapons during advanced training, however, they must be stored in the FLETC armory when not used for this training.

NOTE:  FOR CENTER PURPOSES, a weapon is defined as any operable or inoperable firearms to include:  Revolvers, Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Automatic Weapons, Air Rifles, BB/Pellet and Cap guns or any device capable of propelling darts or arrows, such as operable bows, compound bows and cross bows.
 

Maritime Training

CVBTP – Commercial Vessel Boarding Training Program
Student should bring the following items:

  • Swim suit
  • Swim goggles
  • Long pants, T-shirt and foot wear (tennis shoes recommended) to wear in the pool


MTOTP – Maritime Tactical Operators Training Program
Student should bring the following items:

  • Duty uniforms
  • Running shoes
  • Tactical clothing for laboratory and practical exercises
  • Long-sleeve shirts for NLTA exercises
  • Groin Protection for NLTA exercises recommended but not required
  • Gloves for caving ladders
  • Kneepads recommended but not required


Students with tactical gear issued by their agency may wear their gear during training. If students do not have agency issued tactical gear, The FLETC will provide the required gear

  • Swim suit
  • Swim goggles
  • Long pants, T-shirt and foot wear (tennis shoes recommended) to wear in the pool
