On September 10, 2018, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen visited the National Bio Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) construction site located in Manhattan, Kansas, on the Campus of Kansas State University (KSU).
Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS), Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer and General Richard Myers, President, KSU, along with DHS Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate and FLETC officials, accompanied Secretary Nielsen during her facility tour.
The NBAF is a Level 1 DHS acquisition with a cost objective of $1.25 billion. The project is currently 65 percent complete, on-budget, and on-schedule for completion in May 2021. FLETC administers the design and construction contracts for execution of the NBAF project as a Contract Support Agency via an Interagency Agreement with DHS S&T Directorate.
