Description
The Law Enforcement Instructional Skills Training Program (LEISTP) is designed to provide training in law enforcement instructional skills focused on curriculum delivery. Students are not required to prepare a lesson plan for delivery. Students will present a 15-minute demonstration from a lesson plan provided. Students are required to bring an agency lesson plan that they will use to deliver a 30-minute practical exercise (PE) designed to evaluate their ability to instruct from an existing lesson plan. The LEISTP incorporates a variety of instructional methodologies including participative lecture, student-centered activities, demonstrations, role-play, and presentation laboratories. To receive a FLETC Certificate of Training, students must pass the 30 minute PE.
Prerequisites
Be actively engaged in, or be expected to deliver instruction, to law enforcement or law enforcement support personnel for your organization.
Required Training Materials
Students are required to bring an agency lesson plan that contains at least 30 minutes of developed instruction
All other training materials will be supplied by the FLETC
