GLYNCO, Ga. –The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) would like to address recent media reports regarding its training operations. While there has been an increased focus on surge training to support the onboarding of 10,000 ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) personnel and 1,000 ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) personnel by December 31, 2025, FLETC remains dedicated to supporting its partner agencies and continuing its broader training programs.
FLETC has developed a well-thought-out strategy to align with the Trump administration’s priorities while ensuring the continuation of essential training for other federal, state, local, tribal, and international law enforcement agencies. Alongside ICE ERO and HSI training, FLETC is actively supporting training programs for many agencies during the surge including but not limited to:
- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives
- Bureau of Prisons
- Federal Air Marshal Service
- Federal Protective Service
- U.S. Coast Guard
- U.S. Capitol Police
- U.S. Marshals Service

- U.S. Park Police
- Fish and Wildlife Service
- Bureau of Indian Affairs
- National Park Service
FLETC is also maintaining training for state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies, as well as international partners, as space and resources allow.
To ensure the success of this surge effort, FLETC has established a Surge Training Operations Center to coordinate planning and execution. This center is working daily to address challenges, maximize resource utilization, and minimize disruptions to other training programs.
While some training schedules may be adjusted to accommodate the surge requirements, FLETC will reschedule impacted classes as early as possible in Fiscal Year 2026. Additionally, FLETC is exploring temporary solutions, such as utilizing other training sites and expanding capacity through temporary facilities, to meet the needs of all partner agencies.
FLETC recognizes the importance of its mission to support law enforcement professionals across the nation and remains dedicated to balancing surge training requirements with the ongoing needs of its partner agencies.
As part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FLETC delivers essential training to law enforcement professionals, equipping them to perform their duties safely and effectively. Through strategic partnerships, FLETC supports federal law enforcement in protecting the American people, property, and institutions.
