The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers Celebrates its 55th Anniversary

GLYNCO, GA – The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) celebrated its 55th anniversary with a ceremony held in Glynco, Georgia, which was live-streamed to all FLETC locations. The event was attended by the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar, DHS Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Undersecretary for Management Benjamine C. Huffman, U.S. Representative Andrew Clyde from Georgia’s 9th Congressional District, along with several staff members from Georgia’s congressional delegation. A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of FLETC's new seal, symbolizing its enduring commitment to excellence in law enforcement training.  

The ceremony emphasized the critical role FLETC has played in training federal law enforcement personnel over the past five and a half decades. A video showcasing FLETC’s achievements premiered, highlighting its growth over the past 55 years. FLETC started with 30 partners and now has over 131 partner agencies. Since its inception on July 1, 1970, FLETC has trained well over one million officers and agents.  

As FLETC celebrates this significant milestone, it remains committed to its mission of training those who protect our homeland. FLETC continues to innovate and adapt to the ever-changing security and training environments to ensure that law enforcement officers are well-prepared to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
