Law Enforcement In-Service Driver Training Program

Description

The Law Enforcement In Service Driver Training Program (LEIDTP) is for experienced law enforcement personnel desiring to refresh their core driving skills.  The curriculum revisits the fundamentals of vehicle handling, due regard, obstacle negotiation, and skid control. Emphasis is placed on sound decision making during stressful law enforcement driving situations.

Prerequisites

Applicant must be a law enforcement officer/agent with arrest authority in the prevention, detection, apprehension, detention and/or investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of federal, state, local, tribal, or military criminal laws or serving in a training position where knowledge of the subject matter is required.

Required Training Materials

  • Cheltenham Students: You must bring appropriate training attire. Training uniforms are not provided.
