ILEA-Gaborone delivers class on Human Trafficking to African students
The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) – Gaborone, commenced the Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Training Program this week in Botswana, Africa. ILEA-Gaborone operates in accordance with a bi-lateral agreement between the governments of the U.S. and Botswana. The ILEA-Gaborone on-site program director Joe Augeri is detailed to the Department of State from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers. More than 30 law enforcement officers representing Benin, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone are attending the training program. Facilitated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement/Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), this high-impact program is being conducted by three HSI subject-matter experts (SMEs) and one SME from the Botswana Police College. It is delivered in French as it is the primary language for the countries attending.
ILEA-Gaborone’s mission is to support the federal law enforcement community, and U.S. and regional interests by assisting in combating transnational organized crime and violent extremism by providing world-class law enforcement training to authorized nations.
