FLETC-Glynco and FLETC-Charleston will resume normal training operations tomorrow, 10/12/18.  All personnel should report to work as scheduled.

FLETC Community,

Hurricane Michael has moved past FLETC-Glynco with minimal impact.  All personnel, including students, staff and contractors who sheltered in place last evening, are safe.  Student services (meals and transportation) are offered today on a non-training day schedule.  No off-Center transportation for students will be provided.  The FLETC-Glynco gym will open at 10 am on 10/11/18 for student use.  The uniform standards are relaxed for today and all students utilizing the facility will be expected to clean up after themselves.  The gym will open per normal schedule on 10/12/18.

FLETC-Glynco and FLETC-Charleston remain closed today on 10/11/18 and only essential personnel are to report to work.  All others have been granted administrative leave.  All previously approved leave remains in effect.

All training operations will resume at FLETC-Glynco tomorrow 10/12/18 and all personnel should report to work.  Training previously scheduled for today 10/11/18 will be conducted on 10/12/18 and training scheduled for 10/12/18 will be conducted on Saturday, 10/13/18. 

The storm is in the area of FLETC-Charleston and an update will be provided later today with the impacts to that location.

Update as of 1630 hours on 10/10/18.

FLETC-Glynco and FLETC-Charleston are still under a Tropical Storm Warning. 

Training operations at FLETC-Glynco and Charleston will continue today, Oct. 10, 2018, until 4:30 p.m. EST and all evening training has been rescheduled to a later date. Training operations for tomorrow, Oct. 11, 2018, have been canceled for both sites. Only essential personnel will report to duty on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, all other personnel will be granted administrative leave.  All previously approved leave will remain in effect. All agency personnel attending training will shelter in place from this evening through tomorrow. Meals will be available to those students located at FLETC-Glynco using a non-training day schedule. The gym will be closed and not accessible for recreation or fitness activities.

Training operations are expected to resume at FLETC-Glynco and FLETC-Charleston on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. EST. Remaining training operations for this week will shift by one day, resuming on Friday and continuing on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018. All employees will be expected to report to the center during normal work hours on Friday Oct. 12, 2018.

As additional information is received these decisions may be altered, so please continue to monitor FLETC communication means to include email, Employee News on FLETC Connect, the FLETC App and social media for updates.

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) is currently making all of the necessary preparations to ensure the safety of the students along with the FLETC, Partner Organization and contractual staff here at the Glynco training delivery point (TDP).  In order to ensure that everyone has as much information as possible, the FLETC is providing the following list to assist you in your personal preparation.


All training will cease today, October 10, 2018, at 4:30 pm. 

All training that was scheduled to run on Thursday, October 11, 2018 will now be scheduled to run on Friday, October 12, 2018.  All of the Thursday classes will meet in the same locations as indicated on your Thursday model schedule on Friday, beginning at 7:30 am.

All training that was scheduled to run on Friday, October 12, 2018, will now be scheduled to run on Saturday, October 13, 2018.


The FLETC will make all emergency notifications utilizing the FLETC Emergency Notification System.

The FLETC will post all updated notifications on the FLETC app, social media to include Twitter, Facebook, along with channel 95 and 96 in your rooms.

The FLETC Health Center will be closed, if you have a medical emergency, please contact (912) 267-2911.


The FLETC Cafeteria will be open for normal operations today, Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

The FLETC Cafeteria will open tomorrow, Thursday, October 11, 2018 utilizing the non-training schedule and a reduced menu.  Hours are -  Breakfast – 8:00 – 9:15 am, Lunch – 11:30 – 1:30, Dinner – 5:30 – 7:30. 

We will resume normal operations on Friday, October 12, 2018, unless you are notified differently.


The FLETC will “only” run transportation on Center utilizing the non-training day schedule as long as conditions are safe.  Please monitor the FLETC app, social media to include Twitter, Facebook, along with channel 95.

We encourage students to move their vehicles to higher ground.


The FLETC gym will close today, Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 4:30 and reopen on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 4:00 pm without contract support services, unless the storm prevents this opening.

Director Walters and the FLETC staff are working diligently to ensure your safety.  Please make all personal preparations that you would normally make while at home to include using flashlights, having emergency provisions available, and charging your cell phones as much as possible before the storm hits.  Thanks for your cooperation and assistance as we brace for Hurricane Michael’s arrival.

FLETC Community,

FLETC is monitoring the approach of Hurricane Michael and its impact along the east coast.  The safety of the FLETC and Partner Organization staff, students, and contractors and their families is of the utmost importance to FLETC Leadership.  Due to the current track of the system and expected impacts, the National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for the Glynco area.  FLETC-Glynco personnel that are part of the Glynn County Emergency Operations Center (GCEOC) will continue to provide updates as they occur.  I will be sending out regular communications via email, Employee News on FLETC Connect, the FLETC App, and social media and ask that you stay informed.  Please also continue to monitor your local weather and news outlets.
