Customs & Border Protection Integrated Training Program (CBPI)

Through this training program, new Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers  receive basic law enforcement training and agency-specific training, such as: Anti-Terrorism; Detection of Contraband; Interviewing; Cross-Cultural Communication; Firearms Handling and Qualification, Immigration and Naturalization laws; U. S. Customs Export and Import laws; Defensive Tactics; Arrest Techniques; Baton Techniques; Examination of Cargo, Bags and Merchandise; Border Search Exception; Entry and Control Procedures; Passenger Processing; and Officer Safety and Survival.

Prerequisites for Attendance

Enrollment nominations for the CBPI must be submitted in accordance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP policies. DHS and CBP establish employment standards for the CBP Officer position. All CBPI attendees must meet the DHS and CBP recruitment standards. All students are also required to meet the Center’s Practical Exercise Performance Requirements PRIOR TO ARRIVING FOR THE CBPI TRAINING PROGRAM.

Those selected to attend the CBPI training program will be notified by Customs and Border Protection of their class dates.
