Initial Safety Instructor Certification (ISIC)
Up one levelThe Initial Safety Instructor Certification program is designed to give the officer safety instructor the training necessary to teach officer safety in his or her district. It is a mix of classroom, mat room, and scenario training. Instructors who are certified in the ISIC course must attend safety instructor recertification training every three years to maintain their certification.

Prerequisites for Attendance
For acceptance into this program, the applicant must meet the following criteria: pass a FLETC health screening and be an U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Officer who has been appointed as a District Safety Instructor or Assistant Safety Instructor.

Additional Information
Participants must attend and successfully complete all components of training. Certification requires a score of 90 percent on a defensive tactics practical examination and written examination comprised of officer safety and OC. Participants should bring issued holster, OC holster, magazine pouch, a concealing garment and a sturdy belt.
