Distance Learning Instructor Training Program (DLITP)

Up one level Distance Learning Instructor Training Program (DLITP)

The DLITP was developed in 1996, designed to prepare the experienced classroom instructor for transition to the distance learning environment.  The program will introduce various types of methodologies that can be used to enhance instructional presentation skills that are suitable for distance learning presentations.  The program will introduce the topics of scripting, graphics, TV presentation skills, and familiarize the participant with equipment available at the FLETC Distance Learning Studio.

Type: Advanced

Length: 3.5 class days

Curriculum

Experienced instructors learn the advantages offered through distance learning to expand their classrooms to reach more students and quickly disseminate information when time is critical. They expand their resumes by learning helpful hints about graphics, scripting for television, platform skills, and equipment use. The course is intensive "hands on" with a very strong instructor/student ratio.

No experienced instructor should leave this program with unanswered questions. At this time, computer based and web based distance learning are only covered in overview. Plans are in the works for a second DLITP to cover these areas.

Courses include:
  • Copyright for Television
  • Fifteen Minute Presentations
  • Five Minute Presentations
  • Graphics for Television
  • Lesson Plans for Distance Learning
  • Platform Skills for Distance Learning
  • Scripting for Television & Panel Discussions
  • Three Minute Presentations
