Domestic Terrorism and Hate Crimes Training Program (DTHCTP)
The Domestic Terrorism and Hate Crimes Training Program provides trainers with all the necessary training aides and materials to train police officers how to improve the effectiveness of their agencies in recognizing, reporting, investigating and prosecuting hate crimes.
The material is presented in an adult facilitation setting by using a multi-media approach to learning. Hate crimes on a local, national and global level are examined and practical approaches are developed.
Applicants must be employees of state or local criminal justice, law enforcement or corrections agencies, or other professionals in the criminal justice community.
The Office of State and Local Training (OSL) has an expectation that the participant will redeliver this training to secondary students in their jurisdiction. Participants should be the training officer for their respective agencies or be qualified to train law enforcement officers.
