Senator Saxby Chambliss Visits FLETC

Senator Chambliss greets Connie Patrick

Glynco, GA Nov 07, 2006

Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss visited FLETC Glynco recently to observe the latest venues of training offered to meet the needs of our Partner Organizations.  Director Connie Patrick discussed with the senator and his staff FLETC’s mission to train those who protect our homeland.  By continuously seeking methodologies and technology to improve our training, we continue to provide fast, flexible, and focused training to secure and protect America.

During his visit, Senator Chambliss observed the training offered to special agents soon to be deployed to countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan.  Other areas visited by Senator Chambliss were the Combined Skills Facility and the Driver Simulators.  The senator rode as a passenger in a non-emergency scenario, and then sat behind the wheel of the simulator.

These practical exercises gave the senator a better understanding of the need for both real-life situational driving in a controlled environment as well as hands-on experience.
